První řada s.r.o. is an independent production company founded in February 2021 and based in Prague. Since its inception, it has produced three films by its founder Šimon Holý – Mirrors in the Dark, And Then There Was Love… and Hello, Welcome.
The first two films premiered at the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival and subsequently traveled to a number of international festivals. Mirrors in the Dark received two nominations for the Czech Film Critics' Awards (Discovery of the Year and Best Actress), And Then There Was Love... was nominated for the Czech Film Academy Award and the Czech Film Critics' Award for Best Actress in a Leading Role (Pavla Tomicová). The film Hello, Welcome opened the 50th edition of the Summer Film School Uherské Hradiště.
The company currently develops the films Scars, Miracle and Happy To Death . In addition to film production, První řada also develops television formats.
We strive to create innovative and topical audiovisual works with international potential – works that engage viewers and spark discussion. We are looking for collaboration with prominent authors and international co-producers.
