Scars

Fifteen-year-old Anička's best friend is moving abroad. Sudden loneliness, conflicts with her parents and stress at school gradually take their toll on her mental health. With neither her parents nor her teachers able to help her, the young girl has no choice but to seek solace from her new friend Kris, whose personality is based on psychiatric diagnoses and experience in mental institutions, and the endless stream of videos on TikTok, where she finds many other peers with similar problems. Scars tells a distinctly contemporary story about mental health issues and the challenges of growing up under the influence of social media.
